musical therapy
just discovering Sam Smith, and i'm in a love/hate relationship with his songs. always been a sucker for guys with great voices. especially repeating Latch (acoustic ver.) and Stay with Me non-stop. it's like sticking a band-aid on and ripping it off repeatedly. this is usually accompanied by me bursting into tears. oi. does this count as emotional masochism?
going through my music, and i find i have ridiculously amounts of depressing/break-up/unrequited love songs, mostly sung by male vocals. why do i get so into these types of music? bring on the screaming Dave Grohl, please.
though i usually use my ipod during my commute, and can't access the spotify playlist.. it's still fun to make. need to find a better data plan with unlimited data :/ or at least a phone with better battery life. lab is such a dead zone the phone barely lasts unless i have the charger with me at all times. or just bite the bullet and actually start paying for the services, you fucking cheapskate.
Pomplamoose's La Vie En Rose.. or La Vie En Rose sung by just about anyone is good to keep from feeling like utter shit. the post-doc in the lab called me a hopeless romantic for listening to it earlier today though. am i really? speaking of, remembered watching Sabrina at the Balboa park one summer in san diego with some taiko girls, and how afterwards we all tried to find a version of the song just sung by Audrey Hepburn. how nostalgic..

reverted back to being a foul mouth, just for the time being. there's just something a bit liberating about peppering my speech with cuss words. it's making some people do a double take though, which amuses me so. apparently with my appearance and my 'genial' demeanor, cursing like a sailor doesn't seem to go hand in hand. i may need to work on going back to my angry bitch face. frowning for long periods of time is giving me a headache though hah...
i just need something loud enough to push all thoughts out of my head.
