insomnia

i'm probably one of those people who should never do drugs.

i get attached to things to way too easily and become dependent on them over a short period of time. granted, my taste changes with time ie. my preference for sickeningly sweet coffee during junior high versus just plain black coffee for the present self.. i mean, i love bitter and spicy food! ask anyone from my childhood, and they'll tell you i definitely washed my kimchi in a bowl of water before eating them.

what i'm trying to say is.. well, after drinking that mccafe thingamabobby has kept me so much more alert, and as you can see.. rather awake...

i also blame professor layton; quite possibly my new gaming obsession, this little game had me wrestling my brain for the past week. i can't wait for the third one.. i don't think the whole 12 hours i spent on it in total (plus the extra hours i actually put in when i reset the game to get a better score) was long enough for me :P

fuck, i need to lay off the games a little.

anton should be in new york now.. much sadness to see another friend leave, but i'm happy to know they are all going ahead with their life goals and all. it just makes me feel pretty cruddy, knowing how i'm still so unsure of what i really want to do with my life. i mean, here i am, with a BS in chemistry, one year of off campus lab experience during one of the worst economic crisis in ages (ugh, i sound like one of those speakers from graduation.. stop it already, we allll know we're not getting diddlysquat...), so what can i look forward to but go back to school? not to mention i am so not qualified as those i'll be competing with. i told my mom today i wanted to take a full year off instead of just the summer to start getting things into gear cus 1. i do want more experience working in different labs since i mainly concentrated in biochemical work, and 2. i want to be able to take things slowly. ever since i moved here from korea it's been such a straightforward march to the lovely package known as college. i'm sure the 3rd grade me wasn't even sure what i'd be doing in year 2009... or even live to see the day. i know my parents expect better things out of me, but i'd also like the freedom to decide on my accord. now i guess i should strive on taking the GRE and the GRE subject test. ochem and pchem review, here i come. i am aiming for uc davis right now, but who knows. it's so far up north and i'm such a socal kid.

also, it seems like we're celebrating christmas in a winter wonderland korea! omgwtfbbq, i love korea in winter.. albeit i've been back there only once during winter ever since i moved to the states. nevertheless! pictures of snowy mountains, frozen creek, steaming food carts... ahhh, already sounds so picturesque. also, i miss my dog :/

wow, it's already 3:15.. i should probably attempt to sleep.

also, i'll try to chronicle my not to day-to-day life. it's amusing for me to since now my stuff has been redistributed all over the house.. literally. clothes in mom and ruby's room, computer in the dining table, makeshift bed in living room, and everything else still in the garage..

ahhh.. the life of a post-graduate

and the most important lesson of all is love.. or is it?
