went to go watch the perseid meteor shower around in mt. cuyamaca with the taiko fambam (jenna, kim, james, rosie, diana, and alby) and i can say that was one of the best summer activity we've done so far... and we've done a lot of things.
it was cold (50 degrees) when we finally found a good parking spot in the middle of nowhere in the dark roads, but we had a clear view of the sky. the moonlight was bright enough to cast shadows of the trees nearby. we set down the blankets and snacked on junk food until we started seeing the shooting stars streaking the sky one by one. more parties of people came by, but we disregarded their presence and sang along to bunch of random songs that we knew. we ooh'd and aah'd at the scarce meteors, sometimes cursing for missing even the smallest of movement...
and with every falling star i wished this feeling would never fade.
it was a far drive and everyone (minus me and kim) fell asleep on the car ride back. too bad i wasn't impulsive enough to take pictures :P
seriously guys, that was AWESOME. can we do that again?

yeaaah we should do it again! though the next decent one would be on Jan 3rd, and we probably wouldn't be able to see it together :( we should also get together see the next total lunar eclipse on dec 21, 2010 since it won't happen again in CA for another 4 years :D
